About the job
Within nlmtd’s Tech Discovery team, we support corporates and public sector organisations in shaping their innovation strategies through market research. We focus on emerging technologies and their impact on organisations. Our clients include Heineken, IKEA, Schiphol, the Ministry of Defence, and the Ministry of Justice and Security.
As a Senior Research Manager, you combine deep expertise with a strong helicopter view. You provide content leadership, guide others analytically, and ensure research is translated into sharp, compelling insights at a strategic level.
Independently manage full research components or smaller projects, from planning through delivery.
Structure and write analytical content for reports, presentations, and other deliverables.
Collect data and conduct in-depth analyses according to our methodology. You translate research findings into insights and write recommendations that address the client’s needs.
Coordinate with clients and internal stakeholders, actively contributing to alignment and progress.
Take the lead in client-facing parts of presentations and facilitate internal content sessions.
Independently solve analytical and structural challenges and contribute to improving our ways of working.
Balance effort and value effectively and propose efficient approaches within scope and deadlines.

Build domain knowledge and coach junior colleagues within your workstreams.
Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end research streams and safeguard the analytical and narrative quality of all deliverables.
Define the analytical direction, select methodologies, and ensure accuracy and consistency.
Operate autonomously within complex, multidisciplinary projects and provide content leadership to other analysts.
Design and manage planning across multiple workstreams or larger research programmes.
Lead client conversations, drive alignment, and support clear decision-making.
Write and edit high-quality, client-ready narratives and storylines.
Present key insights and lead high-stakes client presentations.
Solve complex analytical and structural challenges and shape project-wide approaches.
Advise clients and teams on scope, priorities, and value-driven choices.
Challenge assumptions using your expertise and steer the research direction.
Mentor analysts at different levels and actively contribute to capability development.
About you
Our consultants work every day on challenging projects to help companies become future-proof. Your knowledge and experience would be a valuable addition, enabling us to further grow and professionalise nlmtd together.
At least 6 years of experience in research, strategy consulting, or a similar environment.
Strong knowledge of emerging technologies and innovation processes.
Proven experience in leading complex research projects.
Highly developed strategic and analytical thinking skills.
Excellent storytelling and editorial skills.
Very comfortable in client interactions, presentations, and advisory roles.
Natural leadership qualities and a coaching mindset.
