Are you a consultant with extensive experience in management consulting and leading a team?

Then we are looking for you!

Fulltime / Parttime · Amsterdam

Come work at nlmtd (pronounced: unlimited) and help us create sustainable impact together.

Within our Go to Markets, consultants advise our clients across several domains: innovation, the energy transition, sustainability, safety & resilience, and within the public & social domain. Join us and help build a sustainable future.

As a Lead Consultant, you are responsible for a growing team of (currently) around 15 junior and medior consultants who carry out consultancy projects for a wide range of clients across multiple Go to Markets (e.g. Innovation, Energy Transition, or the Public & Social Domain).

You combine team leadership with hands-on client work: roughly two days per week you work billable hours on strategic and complex client assignments. The rest of the time, you are the driving force behind the growth, development, and satisfaction of your team, giving you a key role within nlmtd.

Your key responsibilities:

Consulting (approximately 2 days per week)

  • Lead consultancy projects for clients focused on topics such as innovation, the energy transition, or other areas aligned with your expertise.

  • Act as a strategic sparring partner for executive boards and management teams.

  • Safeguard quality, provide direction to projects, and further develop our consulting propositions.

Team Lead & People Development (rest of the week)

You are responsible for the entire people domain of your team.

  • Recruitment and selection
You continue building a strong, diverse, and future-oriented team.

  • Development and coaching
You support consultants in their professional and personal growth.

  • Career progression and talent development
You create logical career paths and facilitate progression toward our entrepreneurship model.

  • Staffing and utilization
You match people and projects while taking into account strengths, ambitions, and job satisfaction.

  • Engagement and culture
You foster a safe, entrepreneurial, and positive team dynamic where people can thrive.

You will work closely with other internal Leads, the leadership team, and the Go-to-Market leads. You will report to the Director People & Culture.

About you:

Our consultants work daily on challenging projects that help organizations become future-proof. Your knowledge and experience will be a valuable addition as we continue to grow and professionalize nlmtd together.

What we’re looking for:

  • Availability of at least 32 hours per week, with a preference for 40 hours.

  • A university (WO) degree and 7–10 years of experience in management consulting or a similar strategic environment.

  • Experience leading consultant teams and building high-performance teams.

  • Strong skills in coaching, communication, structuring work, and stakeholder management.

  • Ability to move smoothly between strategic thinking and pragmatic execution.

  • You feel comfortable in a people-focused, entrepreneurial, and open culture like nlmtd’s.

  • Affinity with one or more Go-to-Market domains such as innovation, the energy transition, or the public and social domain.

  • Fluency in Dutch and English.

Don’t meet every single requirement, but convinced that nlmtd would strike gold with you on board? We warmly encourage you to apply anyway!

About the terms:
Working at nlmtd gives you the opportunity to be part of an organization that makes a real difference. The atmosphere is informal, with both individual freedom and collective engagement within the organization. We are located in a beautiful office in Amsterdam and regularly organize social activities, as well as an annual winter trip and an outdoor weekend.

  • Base salary between €6.500 and €7.500 gross per month depending on experience (based on 40 hours).

  • One-year contract with the possibility of extension.

  • Pension plan including disability insurance.

  • Unlimited vacation days.

  • Laptop and phone, also for personal use.

  • Unlimited public transport card, also for personal use.

  • Training and development opportunities.

  • Unlimited fun with your colleagues!
